FOR LENT
For if you forgive men when they sin against you,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

HANDY and HELPFUL HINTS

CAST IRON PAN
AS A RECIPE BOARD

Hang a skillet on a kitchen wall and you'll have a convenient magnetic spot to display recipes, important reminders, and anything else your brain is too fried to remember.
(from Real Simple, February, 2010

REHEAT PIZZA
THIS WAY
Heat lefover pizza in a nonstick skillet on top of the stove, set at medium-low heat, and heat until warm.  According to a cooking channel, this keeps the crust crispy and not soggy.

TUBE SOCKS AS WIPER PROTECTORS
Slip a pair of tube socks over your windshield wipers on the eve of a storm so you won't have to deice the blades in the morning.
(Real Simple - Feb. 2010)

Each night
before you go to bed complete the following statements:
"I am thankful for_______."
"Today I accomplished________."

Remember that you are too blessed
to be stressed.

A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories.  After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. "But why?", they asked, as they moved off.  "Because," he said," I can't stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer."

ZEN THOUGHTS
(For Those Who Take Life Too Seriously)

Change is inevitable...except from vending machines.
How much deeper would the ocean be without sponges?
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?
He who laughs last thinks slowest...

Psalm 86:1-10,16-17

Bow down your ear, O Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and in misery.

Keep watch over my life, for I am faithful;
save your servant who puts his trust in you.

Be merciful to me, O Lord, for you are my God;
I call upon you all the day long.

Gladden the soul of your servant,
for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
and great is your love toward all who call upon you.

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer,
and attend to the voice of my supplications.

In the time of my trouble I will call upon you,
for you will answer me.

Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord,
nor anything like your works.

All nations you have made will come
and worship you, O Lord,
and glorify your name.

For you are great;
you do wondrous things,
and you alone are God.

Turn to me and have mercy upon me,
give your strength to your servant;
and save the child of your handmaid.

Show me a sign of your favor,
so that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed
because you, O Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

The guardian angels of life sometimes fly so high
as to be beyond our sight,
but they are always looking down upon us.
Jean Paul Richter

Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it,
and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24 NIV

Happy is the man who can keep a quiet heart,
in the chaos and tumult of the modern world.
