The Trinity Block Party Committee and Vestry wish to thank all of the parishioners and community members who helped out with our first annual Trinity Block Party, which was held August 8, 2009. The City of Anoka was fully supportive of the event, along with the Chamber of Commerce. People from the neighborhood and beyond enjoyed relaxing and chatting while playing Bocce ball, croquet, volleyball, checkers, cards, games of chance and a raffle for a TV. Children played on inflatables and had their faces painted. Other folks enjoyed singing Karaoke, and listening to the band "8-Switch" while eating and drinking wonderful food and beverages, wine and beer. Unfortunately, the weather took a nasty turn with metro-wide tornado warnings and the band was forced to take stop playing while the community took cover in the parish hall. The party was over by 9:00 p.m. but everyone enjoyed getting together and we look forward to our Second Annual Block Party on Saturday, August 14, 2010. Thanks again for joining us, and we hope to see you at our next Block Party.
